Bursch Elementary Opens Little Free Library

The new Little Free Library installed at Bursch Elementary was made possible by The Library Impact Grant and in partnership with Feed Hungry Minds. The library welcomes the community to participate in the joy of reading by providing them with the opportunity of taking or leaving a book.

“We would like to express our gratitude for everyone who came together to make this Little Free Library possible. We are honored to share this with our community,” Bursch Elementary School Principal Ofelia Romero said.

This library also honors the life of late Bursch Elementary student Angel Velasquez. The Velasquez family donated books from Angel’s personal library as well as new books for students who attended the ceremony as a token of appreciation. Students dedicated personalized windmills that were planted around the library with roses donated by local nursery Garden View.

This is the first little free library within Baldwin Park Unified School District schools.
